NMMU Business School hosted its annual Certificate and Diploma Certification Ceremony for Executive Education at NMMU South Campus auditorium on Tuesday afternoon.
Certificates and diplomas were awarded to students who attended open public programmes and employees on company specific programmes, designed and delivered for clients in private and public sectors.
Fifteen Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) Business School second and third year MBA students are participating in the 2012 International Trend Forum in Germany next week (20 – 25 May).
Mr Andrew Muir, environmental activist and member of the NMMU Business School Advisory Board, has been named Social Entrepreneur of the Year in Africa 2012. The award was announced at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa in Addis Ababa by The Schwab Foundation last night (9 May 2012).

and research authority Professor Steve Burgess has been elected to the Advisory
Board of the Academy of Indian Marketing (AIM). AIM is India’s leading
professional marketing organization and provides a global forum for research,
education and perspectives on emerging markets.
Business Day consulted NMMU Business School’s Professor Kobus Jonker, Professor in Strategy and also Director of the Graduate School, on the resignation of directors in the finance and banking practice division Cliffe Dekker Hofmyer and their move to competitor firm Bowman Gilfillan, which recently stunned the legal services industry. NMMU Business School has announced that several Gauteng delegates from leading financial service companies will be attending a three-day specialist programme on family business consultation at the school’s Bird Street Campus in Port Elizabeth on 12 March.
Three members of the NMMU Family Business Unit attended the 11TH IFERA World Family Business Research Conference in Palermo Sicily from June 28 – July 1 2011. Papers were presented by Prof Venter, Dr Cullen and Dr Farrington. A paper by Venter, Farrington and Matabooe won the conference Best Paper Award. The conference provided Family Business Unit faculty with global networking and relationship building opportunities.
NMMU Business School supported the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s 2011 Baystars awards, which celebrates employee excellence in local government. Winners will now attend the NMMU Business School Advanced Leadership Programme.
