NMMU Business School Preferred Training Provider for NMMU Leadership Training

The NMMU LEAP (Leadership Effectiveness Advancement Programme) kicked off on 13 May 2014 with the “unveiling” of the programme where both prospective students and their mentors were invited. So much interest was sparked that one of the mentors changed their status and became a student! The group consists of 17 delegates, who represent various divisions within NMMU – ranging from Human Resources, Technical Services, Construction, ICT, Computing Sciences, Marketing, Arts, Finance, Sport and Chemistry. This diverse group which represents both Professional & Academic staff are on peromnes 7 to 5. The focus of the programme is encapsulated in its slogan: “Unleash the Leader Within” – with the ultimate intended outcome of equipping delegates with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to display improved confidence levels in their own capability. The NMMU LEAP consists of various platforms of learning: input is received via subject matter experts; newfound knowledge on own behaviour is explored with the assistance of professional external coaches and the ‘World of Work” is brought into the classroom via selected NMMU Subject Matter Experts who will assist in placing NMMU in context. The programme is presented by the NMMU Business School (under leadership of Prof Paul Poisat) at its new premises on 2nd Avenue, Summerstrand and will run until May 2015.
