Port Elizabeth, 10 April 2014 –The NMMU Business School Graduate School class of 2014 graduated in a ceremony held at the Vodacom Indoor Sports Centre.
The graduating class included The Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA) and BTech Business Administration (BBA).
This year marks the first graduation of the full-time PDBA students who begun their executive education journey in 2013.
Emily Elliot was a part of this first group of full-time PDBA students.
“Being one of the first PDBA students is very exciting,
“Graduating with the PDBA and moving out of the student world has allowed me to gain perspective and be ready for the future,” Elliot said.
Last year saw a record number of MBA students graduating through NMMU Business School.
International MBA student, Kayode Ayankoya, spoke of the importance of graduating with an MBA.
“An MBA will always be important, even more so today,” Ayankoya stated.
“The world is becoming a global village and people need to be prepared for this,” he commented
“Graduating with the NMMU Business School MBA has given me the global perspective necessary to negotiate this global villiage,” he concluded.
Nicole Pretorius, a BBA student, described studying at NMMU Business School.
“The BBA experience was phenomenal,” Pretorius said, and graduating today has left me excited for the future!”
Graduate Director, Professor Kobus Jonker, was exceptionally proud of the student body.
“The Business School always holds incredible admiration for the graduating student body and wishes them the greatest of successes in the future. We acknowledge the long hours, and concerted efforts these students have put in over the course of their studies,” Prof Jonker said.
NMMU Business School will host its Executive Education diploma and certificate ceremony in May.
“We’re finally finished!” one student celebrated.
